TSUKIMI PACK - VPOTM
TSUKIMI PACK - VPOTM
In Japan, Tsukimi—the autumn moon-viewing festival—has long been a moment to honor the season and its harvest. Families gather beneath the glowing full moon, decorating with slender stalks of susuki (pampas grass), which sway like rice in the fields and are said to ward away misfortune. At the heart of the ritual are offerings of tsukimi dango—round, white rice dumplings whose gentle sweetness mirrors the moon’s light. These wagashi are not bold in flavor, but subtle, elegant, and refined—designed to let one focus on the beauty of the night sky and the fleeting rhythm of the seasons.
To this quiet tradition, we add cigars as a modern companion. Like the dango, a cigar does not shout; it unfolds slowly, rewarding patience. Its burn becomes part of the ritual, extending the stillness, encouraging reflection, and deepening the appreciation of the moment.
The Cavalier White Lancero and Aganorsa Le Voleur Lancero carry a refined balance, slender and graceful like the lines of susuki under the moon. The Casdagli Villa Casdagli Lonsdale and Traditional Grand Café bring warmth—cedar, coffee, and soft spice, like the comfort of autumn air. Finally, the Warped La Colmena closes the evening with honeyed sweetness, delicate and harmonious, as if echoing the soft glow of the harvest moon itself.
This is Tsukimi through cigars: a moment of presence, of elegance, and of quiet joy—an offering to the season, as timeless as the moon.
