Binder: Dominican (11-year aged Bonao)

Background
The Basilica Line was created in honor of the great patriarch of the Casdagli family, Emmanuel Casdagli, who established the family’s Egyptian cotton business. His portrait proudly adorns the band of this line.
The name Basilica derives from the ancient Greek word for “Royal House,” a reference to Emmanuel’s historic residence – Villa Casdagli.
This line was inspired by Casdagli Cigars’ Saudi Arabian clientele, who desired a cigar to complement oriental teas and citrus-based Arabic cuisine. The distinctive “flared” foot of the Basilica Line cigars was designed to gently ease the smoker into the rich, full-bodied flavors of the binder leaves. A perfect companion for an after-dinner smoke.
Cigar Profile
The Basilica A embodies the balanced sweetness characteristic of the Traditional Line, elevated by the use of the renowned 11-year aged Bonao binder leaf. This rare leaf ensures a consistently full-bodied experience throughout the smoke, while blending seamlessly with Pennsylvania Broadleaf and Peruvian Pelo d’Oro.
The flavor journey begins with indulgent vanilla notes, which gradually develop into a nutty richness in the second half. The wrapper, cultivated on the Kelner family’s Cotui plantation, guarantees that the KBF (Kelner Boutique Factory) works only with the very best of the harvest.
