The Daughters of the Wind line takes its name from a sixth century Arabian poem celebrating the Casdagli family's legendary racehorses. The Calico is the jewel of the collection, a full pyramide blended at IGM's exclusive Costa Rican factory from three rare tobaccos, including the factory's own mountain-grown binder.
Caramel and cream open, building steadily into rich dark fruit, cocoa, and a warm baking spice, before settling into a long nougat finish. That nougat is a personal thing for me. I grew up in Montélimar, the nougat capital of the world, where my whole family worked the nougat factories, and so did I. The place smelled of caramel, roasted almonds, and honey, and that is exactly what I taste here, vanilla and honey and almond melting into one.
