MKULTRA was the name of a real programme, and it is not a comfortable one to read about. Giolito borrowed it in 2006 for a batch of his ~mk~ corona that came out of the factory stronger than the blend was meant to be. Rather than write them off he sold them under the new name, they were received far better than anyone expected, and the whole Ultra line grew out of that mistake.
It opens on rich, full coffee, then moves into sweet cocoa with black pepper rising behind it in a way that keeps you paying attention. Cream softens every finish. Deeper in it turns dark: dark chocolate, espresso, a long toasty run and a thread of molasses, with dark fruit appearing right at the end. Medium to full, fifty minutes, and a proper piece of Illusione history. Shipped nationwide across Japan from RACC.
