The Rothschild shape exists because a banker asked for it. Short, wide and dense, built to give a full cigar's worth of flavour in half the time. Illusione's version wears a Mexican San Andres maduro over Aganorsa grown Nicaraguan leaf, and it is one of the least expensive cigars in the shop without smoking like one.
It opens on a strong cereal note, warm and grain heavy, then fills out with cocoa, salted nuts and fresh bread. A mocha richness carries the second half and a gentle baking spice keeps the edges clean. Forty minutes, medium, and it goes with the first beer after a long day better than almost anything else on the shelf. Shipped nationwide across Japan from RACC.
