Romain — RACC

The man behind RACC

Romain

I didn't start RACC because I saw a business opportunity. I started it because I couldn't find what I was looking for.

Japan's cigar market has always leaned traditional. Cuban classics, established names, a world that hasn't changed much in decades. Nothing wrong with that. But outside of Japan, something remarkable was happening. A new generation of passionate makers was reshaping what a cigar could be. Family-owned operations, master blenders with access to tobacco from all over the world, creating blends that simply didn't exist before. We are living through the golden age of cigars, and the proof is in the smoke.

I built the shop I wished existed. Every brand at RACC is family-owned, human-sized, driven by people who got into this because they couldn't imagine doing anything else. These are makers who treat tobacco the way a chef treats ingredients. With patience, with intention, with something to prove. The cigars they produce are balanced, complex, never brutal. Not made to impress on paper, made to be smoked slowly and remembered. Quality always finds its audience eventually.

This is not a big operation. It's one person who smokes a lot of cigars, knows which ones are worth your time, and wants to share them with people in Japan who are ready for something beyond the usual.
