衣替え · CHANGE OF CLOTHES- VPOTM

Finally, October. The month everything starts to turn. The leaves change color, the animals grow thicker fur, the temperatures drop, and even our homes follow. The decor changes for Halloween, or because, like mine, your wife redecorates the whole house with every season. It is tiring to live in a catalog.

In Japan the change is crisp, almost sudden. On the first of October it is not only the month that changes, it is the whole dress code. Winter uniforms at school, jackets out of the closet, and yet the sun is still shining and some of us are still in shorts. I am one of them.

This pack is built for that turn. Five boutique cigars chosen for flavor first, thick and generous, the kind that coat the palate like a warm blanket over your shoulders and comfort like a bowl of thick potage by a countryside fireplace. They start easy and build, one cigar at a time, from the lightest layer to the heaviest, ending deep in dark chocolate and roasted coffee. Cigars for strong liquor and strong food, the kind that go straight to the heart.

01 · Crowned Heads Juarez
The lightest layer, and the sweetest. It opens on honey, moves into chocolate and caramel, and leaves on a mild spice.

02 · Dapper Cigars Desvalido Lonsdale
A cigar that keeps changing shape. Cream, sweet hay and peanut come first, rounded by macadamia. Then honey pours in, dark fruits and fig fill the middle, and it finishes on espresso, a pop of popcorn and a floral lift.

03 · Stolen Throne Call to Arms Corona
This is where the weight arrives. Red pepper comes up front over sweet cream, with leather and toasted almonds carrying a long, clean finish.

04 · Illusione Original Documents cg:4 White Horse Maduro
Velvet from the first draw. Dark chocolate leads and black tea sits behind it. Raisins and cinnamon take turns stepping forward, all held together by caramel.

05 · Aganorsa Leaf Aniversario Maduro Toro
The heaviest layer in the pack. Dark chocolate and quiet earth come first, then roasted coffee and sweet spice build into something deep and full.
