Made at the famous Kelner Boutique Factory (KBF) in Santiago, Dominican Republic, the Ney belongs to the Brothers of the Sabre line, a tribute to the great generals of the Napoleonic age. This robusto carries the name of Maréchal Michel Ney, the man Napoleon called the bravest of the brave, and the general who did more than anyone to spread cigar culture across Europe as the Grande Armée marched, a cigar or a pipe never far from his hand.

Smooth and subtle, the Ney is a voluptuous companion for any moment of the day. It smokes fragrant and easy, all Dominican tobacco, with the Kelner touch simple to pick out: creamy nuttiness, vanilla, and a buttery finish that coats the palate. The flavours melt together until it feels like eating sponge cake, the yogurt cake my mother used to bake every Sunday. The retrohale brings more vanilla, a whisper of cinnamon, and toasted hazelnut.

Mild to medium, and easy to love at any hour, which makes it one of the most approachable cigars in the whole line. As always, Casdagli hands us a masterpiece we cannot get enough of.
