Before Bob de Goede had a cigar brand, he had a friend. Hendrik Kelner Jr., a fellow Dutchman living in the Dominican Republic, rolled Bob’s very first cigars at the Kelner Boutique Factory. El Licenciado is Bob’s way of saying thank you, and he made sure it carries the same care Kelner puts into everything that leaves that factory.

A light Monte Plata Yamasa Claro wrapper sits over a Cotui binder and a filler of Dominican San Vicente, Corojo and Piloto Cubano, with a pinch of Peruvian Pelo de Oro. The first draws bring roasted nuts, warm and toasty. Around the middle the smoke gets rounder and silkier as the cream builds, and it stays that way to the last third. It works as a ten o’clock coffee cigar just as well as an after-dinner one.
